Study visit from the Russian NGO-centre GARANT
Interfolk was in September 2009 host in Copenhagen for a study visit from the Russian NGO-centre GARANT in Arkhangelsk, supported by the Nordic Council of Ministers' NGO-programme for Nordic-Russian cooperation.
Presentation of GARANT
Garant was registered March 1998 as NGOs Support Centre and its activity was and is aimed at training and developing NGOs and civil servants as well as building-up an infrastructure of the Third sector.
Garant implemented more than 200 social projects on the regional, nation-wide and international levels. In the period of 2000-2010 Garant organised several conferences and workshops focused on collaboration of Russian NGOs with Sweden and Finland, to ensure matchmaking process for NGOs of different countries.

With the mobility grant from Nordic Council of Ministers' NGO-programme for Nordic-Russian cooperation, Garant intended to develop their contact to Danish NGOs, and they had been recommended to contact Interfolk as host.
Porgramme of the visit
During the 3-day visit in Copenhagen the group of five staff members from GARANT had meetings with more organisations with mutual introductions and exchange of experiences as well as dialogue about possíble future cooperation.

Follow-up
The years after in 2012 and 2013, the leader from Interfolk and deputy director from Garant made two unsuccesfull applications to the Nordic Council of Ministers' NGO-programme for Nordic-Russian cooperation.
But in 2016 we were succesfull and got support to the ambitious and successfull Nordic-Russia cooperation project, BRIDGES, where we developed a new online database for Nordic and Russian NGOs that wanted to be engaged in cross-border cooperation. See
