COMMUNITY mobility

Interfolk applied for and got an Erasmus+ mobility grant to complete staff training courses, entitled:“Added community values in culture associations" (COMMUNITY), August 2022 - December 2023. 


Number of mobilities: 30. 


Background and need

The activities in the croos-cultural sector in the civil societies in the EU member states do not only provide joy, friendship, meaningh and lifelong learning for the participants, but they also have many potentials to promote societal benefits and added community values, like social inclusion, active citizenship and environmental sustainability.


However, these potentials can be imprioved by a more conscius development work by the learning providers in the sector and by a more continuously transfer of good practice examples between the countries. 


Aim and objectives

The overall aim was to transfer knowledge and skills and exchange experiences om how cultural civil society associations can promote added community values. 


The mobility plan intends to focus on some of the most important added community values, which we also have had focus on in our Nordic and European development projects. The three key objectives were to promote: 

  • Social inclusion and cohesion
  • Active citizenship and democratic practices
  • Green sustainability, for climate as well as nature

  • Digital competences, including hybrid cooperation, and virtual and blended mobility.


The course activities

The courses included: 


Pireaus (GR), Dec 5 - 9, 2022.  2 persons. Title: "European Project Manager - Building European Identity at Educational and Training organisations”. Provider: IDEC. 


Podova (IT),  April 23 - 29, 2023. 2 persons . Title: "Learning in nature: exploring outdoor education" . Provider: Teachersrise


Santiago de Compostella (ES), May 8 - 13, 2023.  1 person . Title: "European cultural routes, from Santiago to active citizenship of today". Provider: Learn-To-Teach 


Palamos og Barcelona (ES), May 22 - 25, 2023.  9 persons. Title: "Eco-literacy. Sea and mountain: think global, act local". Provider: Learn-To-Teach


Lofoten (NO), Aug 28 - Sept 1, 2023.  6 persons. Title: "Culture activities in Lofoten with added community values". Provider: Department of Culture, Sports and Leisure at Vestvågøy Municipality. 


Husavik (IS), Sept 22 - 22, 2023. 4 persons. Title: "Practice and methods in organising cultural learning activities with added community values". Provider: Husavik Academic Center. 


Lund (SE), December 6 -8, 2023. 2 persons . Title: "Culture activities in Lund and Malmø with added community values". Provider: Lunds Ungdoms- och Hemgård.


In all: 26 mobilities
